Description
AM580 is a potent retinoid agonist with strong preference for retinoic acid receptor α (RARα). Reported EC50 values are 0.3 nM for RARα, 8.6 nM for RARβ and 13 nM for RARγ.
AM580 activates RAR-dependent transcription and can drive differentiation, cell-cycle remodeling and retinoid-responsive gene expression. It is widely used to distinguish RARα-mediated effects from other retinoic acid receptor subtypes in developmental, hematopoietic and cancer-cell models.
