Description

UPF 648 is a potent and selective inhibitor of kynurenine-3-monooxygenase (KMO, kynurenine hydroxylase) with a reported IC50 value of 20 nM. It is the active (+)-(1S,2S)-enantiomer.

KMO controls flux through the kynurenine pathway of tryptophan metabolism and influences neuroactive and immunomodulatory metabolites. UPF 648 is relevant for neuroinflammation, cognitive dysfunction and metabolic pathway studies.
