Description
(+)-Epibatidine dihydrochloride is the (+)-enantiomer of epibatidine and acts as a highly potent nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist. It is useful for defining enantiomer-dependent activity at neuronal nicotinic receptors.
Epibatidine analogues are powerful tools for studying nAChR subtype activation and cholinergic pain pathways. (+)-Epibatidine dihydrochloride can be compared with the racemate, (±)-Epibatidine (Axon 1076) and (-)-enantiomer (Axon 1078) to evaluate stereoselective pharmacology.
