Description
AR420626 is an allosteric agonist of the short-chain fatty-acid receptor FFA3 (GPR41), with a reported pEC50 value of 5.74. It activates FFA3 independently of the endogenous orthosteric short-chain fatty-acid binding site.
AR420626 has been used to investigate intestinal FFA3 signaling and mucosal defense. In rat studies it enhanced protective responses and reduced NSAID-induced small-intestinal injury through a pathway involving glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2).
