Description
Silibinin is a natural flavonolignan with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer bioactivity. It modulates multiple signaling pathways involved in survival, inflammation, oxidative stress and tumor progression.
Silibinin has been reported to influence pathways such as NF-κB, STAT3, Notch, cell-cycle control and apoptosis. It is useful as a pleiotropic natural product tool for studying hepatoprotection, oxidative stress and cancer-associated signaling networks.
