Description
OTX 008 is a selective allosteric inhibitor of galectin-1 that down-regulates cancer-cell proliferation, invasion and tumor angiogenesis. It reduces galectin-1 expression, suppresses ERK1/2 and Akt-dependent survival pathways and induces G2/M arrest through CDK1 modulation.
Galectin-1 regulates extracellular-matrix interactions, immune evasion, angiogenesis and tumor-cell survival. OTX 008 is useful for investigating galectin-1-dependent tumor biology and anti-angiogenic anticancer mechanisms.
