Description
CGP 57380 is an inhibitor of MAP kinase-interacting kinase 1 (MNK1/MKNK1) with selectivity over several upstream MAPK and Src-family kinases.
MNK1 phosphorylates eIF4E downstream of ERK and p38 signaling, linking MAPK pathways to cap-dependent translation. CGP 57380 is useful for investigating translational control, stress-response signaling and MNK-dependent cancer biology.
Key Features
- MNK1/MKNK1 inhibitor
- Blocks MAPK-dependent eIF4E phosphorylation pathways
- Displays selectivity over p38, JNK, ERK, PKC and c-Src family kinases
- Useful for translational control studies
Applications
- MNK1 kinase assays
- eIF4E phosphorylation research
- MAPK downstream signaling studies
- Cancer translation-control models
