GBR 12783 dihydrochloride
- Parent CAS: 67469-57-2
- Soluble in water and DMSO
- MF: C28H32N2O.2HCl
- MW: 485.49
Description
GBR 12783 dihydrochloride is a potent and selective dopamine uptake inhibitor that blocks dopamine transporter (DAT)-mediated reuptake and increases dopaminergic tone in transporter-based assays.
DAT controls extracellular dopamine availability in nigrostriatal, mesolimbic and mesocortical pathways. GBR 12783 is useful for dissecting dopamine transporter function, stimulant-like pharmacology and catecholamine-dependent signaling in CNS research.
Key Features
- Selective inhibitor of dopamine uptake
- Targets dopamine transporter-mediated reuptake
- Useful tool for dopaminergic neurotransmission studies
- Supports analysis of catecholamine signaling and transporter pharmacology
Applications
- Dopamine transporter (DAT) uptake assays
- Dopaminergic neurotransmission research
- Reward, locomotor and psychostimulant pathway studies
- Catecholamine transporter pharmacology
