Azasetron hydrochloride
- Parent CAS: 123040-69-7
- Soluble in water and DMSO
- MF: C17H20ClN3O3.HCl
- MW: 386.27
Description
Azasetron hydrochloride is a selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist. Enantiomerically pure forms, (+)-Azasetron hydrochloride (Axon 2534 ) and (-)-Azasetron hydrochloride (Axon 2535), are available separately, allowing stereochemical comparison of 5-HT3 receptor blockade.
5-HT3 receptors are ligand-gated ion channels involved in nausea, emesis, visceral signaling and sensory neurotransmission. Azasetron hydrochloride is useful for studying serotonergic ion channel pharmacology and 5-HT3 antagonist responses.
Key Features
- Selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist
- Enantiopure forms available for comparison
- Useful serotonergic ion channel antagonist
- Blocks serotonin 5-HT3 receptor ion-channel activity
Applications
- 5-HT3 receptor pharmacology
- Serotonergic ion channel studies
- Nausea and emesis pathway research
- Enantiomeric activity profiling
