More About LTA4H
Leukotriene A4 hydrolase/aminopeptidase (LTA4H; EC 3.3.2.6) is a ubiquitously expressed bifunctional zinc metalloenzyme with epoxide hydrolase and aminopeptidase activities utilizing the same Zn present active site. It catalyzes biosynthesis of the proinflammatory mediator, LTB4, implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases. Recently, the chemotactic tripeptide Pro-Gly-Pro was identified as the enzyme’s endogenous peptidase substrate[1],[2].
