Description
Dapansutrile is a selective, orally active inhibitor of the NLRP3 inflammasome. It suppresses canonical and noncanonical NLRP3 activation and reduces maturation and release of IL-1β and IL-18, while showing little effect on AIM2- or NLRC4-dependent inflammasomes in reported systems.
Dapansutrile is used to investigate NLRP3-dependent sterile inflammation, pyroptotic signaling and metabolic consequences of chronic cytokine production. It has been applied in models of gout, cardiovascular inflammation and other IL-1-driven conditions. OLT1177® is a registered trademark of Olatec Therapeutics LLC.
