Description
BETP is a positive allosteric modulator of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) with an EC50 value of 0.66 μM and selectivity over GLP-2, GIP, PTH and glucagon receptors. It potentiates GLP-1R signaling through cAMP accumulation, intracellular Ca2+ mobilization and β-arrestin recruitment.
GLP-1R signaling regulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion and incretin biology. BETP is useful for studying allosteric modulation of class B GPCR signaling, biased pathway activation and insulin-secretory responses in metabolic disease research.
