Description
(R)-HTS-3 hydrochloride is the first potent, selective, and cell-active inhibitor of LPCAT3 with an IC50 value of 0.09 μM. Human cells treated with (R)-HTS-3 undergo rapid remodeling of the acyl-chain composition of their phospholipids in a manner that mirrors the changes caused by genetic loss of LPCAT3. Acute blockade of LPCAT3 by (R)-HTS-3 confers partial protection against ferroptosis induced by GPX4 inhibition.
