- MW: 481.33
Description
T0901317 is a potent liver X receptor (LXR) agonist, with a reported EC50 value of 20 nM. It activates LXR-responsive transcription, including genes involved in cholesterol efflux such as ABCA1 and ABCG1.
T0901317 is widely used to study cholesterol homeostasis, reverse cholesterol transport and lipid-regulated nuclear-receptor signaling. In vivo LXR activation also induces SREBP-1-driven lipogenesis and can elevate triglycerides; the compound additionally modulates other nuclear receptors at higher concentrations, so dose and receptor controls are important.
Key Features
- Potent LXR agonist (EC50 = 20 nM)
- Induces cholesterol-efflux pathways
- Activates SREBP-1-dependent lipogenesis in vivo
- Concentration-dependent off-target nuclear-receptor activity
Applications
- LXR nuclear-receptor research
- Cholesterol-efflux assays
- ABCA1 and ABCG1 expression studies
- Lipid-metabolism research
- Atherosclerosis and metabolic-disease models
