Description
Zoniporide hydrochloride is a potent and selective Na+/H+ exchanger isoform 1 (NHE1/SLC9A1) inhibitor with reported IC50 activity of 14 nM for NHE1-dependent Na+ uptake. It provides cardioprotective pharmacology in ischemia-related models.
NHE1 regulates intracellular pH, sodium loading and downstream calcium handling during ischemia-reperfusion stress. Zoniporide is useful for studying NHE1-dependent ion transport, myocardial injury and cardioprotective pathway modulation.
Key Features
- Potent NHE1 inhibitor
- Reported IC50: 14 nM for NHE1-dependent Na+ uptake
- Modulates intracellular pH and sodium transport
- Relevant to myocardial ischemia and cardioprotection research
Applications
- NHE1 transport assays
- Cardiac ischemia-reperfusion models
- Ion homeostasis research
- Cardioprotective pharmacology studies
