Description
SA 4503 is a potent and selective sigma-1 receptor agonist with high affinity for sigma-1 receptors (IC50: 17.4 nM) and approximately 100-fold lower affinity for sigma-2 receptors.
Sigma-1 receptors modulate ER-mitochondrial signaling, ion channel function, neurotransmission and cellular stress responses. SA 4503 is useful for studying sigma-1 receptor activation in neuropharmacology and cytoprotective signaling models.
