Remogliflozin
- GSK 189074- Soluble in water and DMSO
- MF: C23H34N2O7
- MW: 450.53
Description
Remogliflozin (GSK189074) is an inhibitor of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2), the renal transporter responsible for much of filtered glucose reabsorption.
SGLT2 inhibition reduces renal glucose reuptake and promotes urinary glucose excretion, a mechanism relevant to metabolic disease pharmacology. Remogliflozin is useful for studying renal glucose transport, glycemic control pathways and SGLT2 selectivity.
Key Features
- SGLT2 sodium-glucose cotransporter inhibitor
- Blocks renal glucose reabsorption pathways
- Promotes glucosuria-related glucose lowering mechanisms
- Relevant to type 2 diabetes and renal transporter research
Applications
- SGLT2 transporter pharmacology
- Renal glucose handling assays
- Type 2 diabetes model studies
- Metabolic disease drug-discovery research
