Description
Fluvoxamine maleate is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor with reported high affinity (Ki: 1.6 nM) for the serotonin transporter and additional sigma-1 receptor binding activity.
Inhibition of SERT increases extracellular serotonin and is central to SSRI pharmacology in mood and anxiety research. Fluvoxamine is useful for studying serotonergic neurotransmission, transporter occupancy and sigma-1-associated pharmacological effects.
