Niraxostat
- Y700 - Piraxostat- Soluble in DMSO
- MF: C16H17N3O3
- MW: 299.32
Description
Niraxostat (also known as Y-700 or Piraxostat) is an orally active, potent xanthine oxidoreductase inhibitor (XOR). By inhibiting the enzyme responsible for converting hypoxanthine to xanthine and subsequently to uric acid, it effectively reduces serum uric acid levels.
Xanthine oxidase catalyzes uric acid production during purine metabolism and is a key target in hyperuricemia and gout research. Niraxostat is useful for studying XO inhibition, urate-lowering mechanisms and purine metabolism.
Key Features
- Xanthine oxidase inhibitor
- Reported to reduce serum uric acid levels potently
- Orally bioavailable urate-lowering research compound
- Relevant for gout and hyperuricemia pathway studies
Applications
- Xanthine oxidase inhibition assays
- Gout and hyperuricemia research
- Purine metabolism studies
- Uric acid lowering pathway models
