Description

DS45500853 is a synthetic agonist of the orphan nuclear receptor estrogen-related receptor α (ERRα). It inhibits the interaction between ERRα and the coregulator RIP140 with an assay IC50 value of 0.80 µM and activates an ERRα-responsive reporter with an EC50 value of 5.4 µM, while showing little detectable PPARγ transcriptional activity.

DS45500853 is used to examine ERRα-dependent transcription, coactivator and corepressor exchange, mitochondrial metabolism and energy-homeostasis programs. Its separation from PPARγ activity makes it useful for distinguishing ERRα-mediated metabolic responses from those driven by closely related nuclear-receptor pathways.
