Description
Rotigotine is a dopamine D2/D3 receptor agonist and the more active enantiomer of N-0437 compared with the opposite R-enantiomer N-0924. It is widely used as a dopaminergic agonist reference compound.
D2 and D3 receptor activation is relevant to Parkinsonian motor circuitry, reward pathways and dopaminergic neuropharmacology. Rotigotine is valuable for experiments that require a well-characterized dopamine agonist with D2/D3 activity.
Key Features
- Dopamine D2 and D3 receptor agonist
- More active enantiomer of N-0437
- Non-ergoline dopaminergic ligand
- Useful reference compound for dopamine agonist studies
Applications
- D2/D3 receptor pharmacology
- Parkinson's disease pathway research
- Dopaminergic neurotransmission studies
- Comparative dopamine agonist profiling
