Description
(S)-(-)-8-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is the less active S-(-)-enantiomer of 8-Hydroxy-DPAT (Axon 1015) and is described as a partial 5-HT1A receptor agonist. It is useful for comparing partial versus full 5-HT1A receptor agonism.
Partial agonists at 5-HT1A receptors can produce distinct signaling profiles compared with full agonists. (S)-(-)-8-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is valuable for stereoselectivity studies and for dissecting efficacy-dependent serotonergic responses.
The more active (R)-(+)-8-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is available as Axon 1016.
Key Features
- Partial 5-HT1A receptor agonist
- Less active enantiomer of racemic 8-OH-DPAT
- Comparator for R-(+)-8-OH-DPAT full agonism
- Useful for efficacy and stereochemistry studies
Applications
- 5-HT1A receptor pharmacology
- Partial agonism studies
- Serotonergic GPCR signaling assays
- Enantiomer comparison experiments
