Bulk Inquiry
S3QEL 2
- Soluble in DMSO
- MF: C19H25N5
- MW: 323.44
Description
S3QEL 2 is a suppressor of superoxide production from mitochondrial complex III at the outer quinol oxidation site (site IIIQo). It reduces mitochondrial ROS generation without broadly inhibiting electron transport in reported assays.
Complex III-derived superoxide contributes to redox signaling, oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction. S3QEL 2 is useful for selectively probing site-specific mitochondrial ROS biology and separating superoxide signaling from respiratory chain inhibition.
Key Features
- Suppressor of site IIIQo superoxide production
- Reported IC50: 1.7 µM against complex III-mediated superoxide production
- Acts without general complex III electron transport blockade in reported studies
- Selective tool for mitochondrial ROS source analysis
Applications
- Mitochondrial ROS research
- Complex III redox biology
- Oxidative stress and signaling assays
- Mitochondrial dysfunction disease models
