Description
Nelfinavir mesylate (AG1343) is an orally active HIV protease inhibitor with reported Ki value of approximately 2 nM against HIV-1 protease.
HIV protease inhibition prevents maturation of infectious viral particles by blocking cleavage of viral polyproteins. Nelfinavir is used as a reference antiviral compound and is also studied in broader pharmacology models involving proteostasis, stress responses and cancer-cell signaling.
