Description

CysLT1 Antagonist Q8 is a quininib analogue that antagonizes the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 (CysLT1/CYSLTR1). It reduces cellular NF-κB and calpain-2 signaling and suppresses secretion of inflammatory mediators including IL-6 and IL-8 in relevant cellular models.

Q8 inhibits endothelial-cell proliferation, migration and tube formation and blocks developmental angiogenesis in zebrafish. Its antiangiogenic activity is observed in VEGF-independent assay systems and can be additive with VEGF blockade, supporting its use in leukotriene-receptor, inflammation and angiogenesis research.
