Description
Hydroxychloroquine sulfate is an antimalarial and immunomodulatory lysosomotropic compound that alters endosomal and lysosomal function. It is also used to study TLR-dependent innate immune signaling and autophagy-related cellular responses.
Hydroxychloroquine accumulates in acidic organelles and interferes with antigen processing, endosomal nucleic acid sensing and lysosomal degradation. This makes it relevant for inflammation, autoimmune disease biology, autophagy assays and host-pathogen pathway studies.
