Description
Eltrombopag (SB497115) is a first-in-class, oral, nonpeptide thrombopoietin receptor (TpoR/MPL) agonist that activates receptor signaling and promotes megakaryocyte-lineage responses.
TpoR/MPL signaling drives megakaryocyte proliferation, differentiation and platelet production through JAK/STAT and related pathways. Eltrombopag is used as a reference agonist for thrombopoietin receptor pharmacology and hematopoiesis research.
