Forskolin

Description

Activator of adenylate cyclase (IC50 value of 41 nM). A naturally occurring labdane diterpene that has been used extensively to increase cAMP and to elicit cAMP-dependent physiological responses. Elevation of cAMP levels by Forskolin induced neuronal differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells via activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase/MAPK. Anti-hypertensive and vasodilatory agent.
