An atypical antipsychotic for the treatment of schizophrenia and acute mania associated with bipolar disorder; Displays high affinity antagonistic activities at many receptors, including dopamine (D1-4) and serotonin (5-HT1-7) receptor subtypes. However, it has much lower affinity (pKi < 5) for the muscarinic acetylcholine receptors.
